The RV Electronics Breakaway Switch Mount provides a secure and reliable way to attach your breakaway switch when towing. Designed to improve safety by ensuring the breakaway switch activates properly in case of a tow bar failure.

How It Works

Traditional breakaway switches are connected directly to chains or tow bars, which may fail to activate if the tow bar breaks. The Breakaway Switch Mount (BSM) connects to the tow bar and a secure, non-towing point further forward on the vehicle chassis. This setup ensures the breakaway switch triggers reliably in an emergency.

The BSM allows you to attach the breakaway switch pin near your hitch for easy access without compromising functionality. If the tow bar detaches, the mount will release from its bracket and use the forward attachment point to engage the breakaway system, stopping the towed vehicle safely and quickly.

Breakaway switch is sold separately.
