BMPRO SwayControl Proactive Electronic Stability Control and Loom

Proactive electronic stability control

The BMPRO SwayControl system reduces caravan and trailer sway automatically, enhancing safety by correcting sway without driver input. It monitors trailer yaw and applies braking force independently to either side of the trailer brakes.

Mounted under the caravan or trailer chassis, the unit connects to the trailer braking system. It detects sway caused by road conditions, wind, passing vehicles, driver errors, or uneven loading and applies brakes to stabilise the trailer.

The system includes a prewired loom for simple installation.

Features

  • Independent braking: Applies brake force only to the side experiencing sway for precise control.
  • Axle compatibility: Works with single, tandem, triple, and four-axle caravans and trailers.
  • Off-road mode: Automatically disables on sustained rough terrain.
  • Power supply: Operates on 12V–15V DC from caravan or trailer battery, minimum 50Ah recommended.
  • Waterproof design: Fully sealed unit with a 2-year warranty.
  • Wiring loom included: Prewired loom for easy setup; compatible with BMPRO Trailsafe emergency breakaway system.
  • Sleep mode: Low-power mode activates after 30 minutes without activity.
  • Automatic wake-up: Reactivates via brake controller signals.
  • Activation threshold: Engages when lateral forces reach 0.4 G.

Anti-Sway and very happy

I have just finished testing my new BMPro anti-sway on my 8 year old, 20ft Avan Owen. I purchased the kit and to my amazement the loom fitted like a little ripper. I installed myself following the directions found on YouTube, very straight forward and because of the level of the kits finish presented very professionally. I tested down the highway launching the car through some tighter manoeuvres and the caravan just stuck to my track like glue. It felt uncanny towing so straight. I only tested at 80 klm/h. Very happy with the whole deal, thanks.

Great peace of mind

This is hard to review as, like ABS braking, you may never need it. However it gives me great comfort to know that a strong wind or swerve won't start dangerous caravan sway. Unlike some systems that brake all wheels, this one only brakes the side that needs it to straighten (and keeps switching to each side rapidly until it settles down)
