The BMPRO BC300 External Shunt and Commlink provide accurate battery capacity monitoring for lead acid and lithium battery systems. Suitable for setups with Diesel Heaters that require direct wiring to the battery instead of connection via a battery manager.

Features

  • Compatibility: Works with 12V Lead Acid and LiFePO4 lithium batteries
  • Voltage range: 8 to 16 volts
  • Capacity range: 7 to 800 amp hours (Ah)
  • Current range: ±300 amps peak (240A continuous)
  • Wireless communication: Bluetooth and CAN bus
  • Supports high current loads and external charge sources connected directly to the battery
  • Integrates with BatteryPlus35 and J35 systems
  • Temperature monitoring for battery protection (temperature data collected but not displayed)
  • Real-time data: Time Remaining and State of Charge displayed on Trek, JControl, and JHub interfaces
  • Simple DIY installation with easy pairing

Excellent way to track power

We bought this shunt so we could hook it up to our battery management system. As we installed a diesel heater and an external MPPT solar controller, we needed to make sure our battery management system knew about the external draw on the battery. It worked a treat

If you have a BMpro system like to j35 etc your really need one of these. I thought I had and issue with charging and without a bc300 your blind to try and find the issue. I have brought a number of items from Everything Caravan really easy to deal with and you get the product fast.

Having mounted it in a caravan, I found it necessary to move it to within a couple of meters of the battery (connected to the Trek monitor), rather than the BP35 located just 4 meters away.

The shunt and commslink does the job as designed. The commslink reports back to the J35 the amps in/out from the shunt (in my case an inverter and solar). Pretty pricey for a shunt though. If you don't care about the J35 integration, then you can rig up any suitable shunt to a standalone V/A/AH/W/WH meter for under $100.
