This little switch that is installed on your Altitude awning detects unwanted motion such as wind and can signal the awning to retract.
The Carefree BT-12 Motion Switch is an optional attachment for the Altitude Awning range that is used to detect unwanted motions that may potentially damage your awning, like strong winds. If it detects anything too extreme it will tell the awning to promptly get out of harm's way by automatically retracting - a very helpful bit of insurance!
