How to Use Your Produce Pod
01 Dampen the Inner Bag
Run the inner bag under the tap, then wring out the excess water. Keep it damp, not soaking wet.
02 Add the Inner Bag
Place the damp inner bag inside the outer bag, ready for your fresh produce.
03 Add Your Produce
Place your fruit and vegetables inside, close both bags and put your Produce Pod anywhere in your fridge.
04 Keep It Damp
Keep the inner bag damp. It stays damp for approximately 3 days to 1 week, depending on how often it has been washed. The more it’s washed, the more absorbent it becomes and the longer it stays damp.
How to Clean Your Produce Pod
Keeping your Produce Pod clean helps maintain it for continued use and fresh produce storage.
Wash the cotton inner bag:
- Once per week
- Inside out
- In a 60°C machine wash with your regular load of laundry
- Using a full dose of detergent
Make sure the cotton inner bag is thoroughly dried before dampening it and returning your Produce Pod to the fridge.
Wash the outer bag every 2–3 weeks in a machine wash with your regular load of laundry.
No access to a 60°C machine wash?
Hot water is essential for thoroughly cleaning the cotton inner bag. Instead of a 60°C machine cycle, place the inner bag only in a saucepan and pour freshly boiled water over it. Leave it submerged for 1–2 minutes, then wash both the inner and outer bags in a cold machine wash or by hand.
Tip: Regularly washing and thoroughly drying your Produce Pod helps keep your reusable produce storage bags clean and ready for your next use.
